Lady Peel Trust: The Lady Peel Awards

The Lady Peel Legacy Trust (UK Reg’d charity 204815) was established in 1925 for the honour of almighty God and the furtherance and support of Church of England work carried out on catholic lines.

In 2016, the trustees will be awarding grants of around £2,500 to projects that will strengthen a catholic understanding of Christianity in the Church of England. This stands alongside their existing support to the church in the developing world. Grants will be awarded to projects that engage with, encourage and promote:

Worship of God with the whole of one’s being
Understanding of the Christian faith and of the whole of reality in relation to God
Action that demonstrates the church’s commitment to the whole of humanity

Examples might include work to encourage Christian vocation; study days (for example in the use and understanding of the arts in a Christian context); events to facilitate liturgical formation; local festivals or parish missions.

Our aim is to encourage confidence and enthusiasm within the catholic tradition of the Church of England. Priority will be given to initiatives that can demonstrate likely continuing impact or dissemination.

To apply, applicants should send the trustees an initial proposal of no more than 2 sides of A4 which includes a description of the project with clearly defined outputs, its context, evidence of need, total cost and the proportion of this the grant would cover, and mention of their theological & liturgical tradition. We want the initiatives we support to be successful and therefore encourage applicants to factor in the cost of administrative support.
Shortlisted applications may be asked to supply further information.

Deadline for applications: April 19th, 2016, 12 noon.
